Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your personal information across the Market Wa Pitori website, events, and store.

Last updated: 3 August 2026

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, phone number, shipping or delivery details, and (for vendors) business information, when you register an account, buy a ticket, apply as a vendor, or place an order.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to process ticket and product orders, communicate order and event updates, manage your account, review vendor applications, and improve the Market Wa Pitori platform.

3. Payment processing

Payments are processed by our third-party payment partner, Yoco. Market Wa Pitori does not store your full card number or card security code -- these are handled directly and securely by Yoco in accordance with their own security standards.

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember items in your cart. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising.

5. Sharing your information

We share information only with service providers who help us run the platform -- including our payment processor (Yoco), hosting and cloud storage providers, and our email delivery provider -- and only to the extent needed for them to provide that service. We do not sell your personal information.

6. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against loss, misuse, or unauthorised access.

7. Your rights

In accordance with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and other applicable data protection law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information held by us. You may exercise these rights by contacting us through the channels below.

8. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations (including tax and consumer protection recordkeeping), and resolve disputes.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the site after any changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
